Announcements

Congratulations to long-time Smithsonian Associates volunteer Bill Ulman, who was honored by Dulles International Airport as the recipient of the Grace Hadley Dodge Award for 593 hours of service to the airport in 2021! Since 2002 he's volunteered with Travelers Aid, helping countless travelers and volunteer colleagues alike.

If you receive a special accolade or are celebrating a life event, please feel free email Jenna about it, so she can share the news with fellow volunteers.

    NEXT REMOTE VOLUNTEER TRAINING
Our Remote Volunteer Corps is 80 people strong. The next training for studio arts volunteers will be in March 2022. Live-streamed and in-person lectures are well staffed by volunteers at this time. We anticipate the next lecture training to be late summer or early fall, depending on the volume of programs and the low volunteer attrition rates.

SI ID BADGE RENEWALS: At this time all Associates' volunteer badge renewals will be submitted to OPS when volunteers complete the in-person training to return to the Ripley Center. This may not be until late summer or early fall. You do not need a renewed badge until then. You may use your expired badge to enter non SI museums, but recommend that you not use your expired badge to enter SI museums, because the security officers will confiscate it.
